hike the long trail in a day!
Join GMC's annual social fundraiser and hiking challenge! Individuals and teams will hike segments of the Long Trail to complete the entire 272-mile trail in one day, all while raising money for the Green Mountain Club to continue its work caring for the mountains and trails of Vermont. The fun continues by joining other hikers at nine local watering holes across the state to celebrate the completion of the hike.
The first 272 people to register will receive a free pair of Darn Tough socks and all registrants will receive a free digital Long Trail Map. Rewards for fundraising include Long Trail Day merchandise and Skida and Osprey products!
Can't hike that day? You can be a virtual hiker by registering and fundraising online, with the same access to rewards as those hiking.

The Green Mountain Club wants to encourage hikers of all ages to get outside and hike the trail (including easier side trails) to experience firsthand the natural beauty, vistas, wildlife, and character of the Green Mountains of Vermont.
GMC maintains the condition of the trail to make it safe, passable, and dotted with shelters, privies, and caretakers to provide education along the way. We are challenging Vermonters and visitors alike to form teams to hike all segments of the trail in one day and at the same time raise money for GMC to continue the trails’ long-term protection.
